CLax will mainly be using Canadian box lacrosse rules with some modifications in an effort to make the game as skill-fully entertaining and understood as possible for both new and old fans.

»» Teams will either not be allowed to change when running from offense to defense or have to change in the door closest to their own net. Our goal is to speed up the game and create more offensive chances in transition.

We believe all players can be valuable in both ends of the floor, whether it’s passing, catching, shooting, setting picks or checking

»» A non-ball carrier in the offensive end will have the freedom to cut towards the middle/ goal with a defensive player only allowed to be able to match up with their body (similar to basketball) and stick to stick. Once the cutting player is passed the ball then he becomes open to full legal contact. This will allow for more player movement and scoring chances from the middle of the floor in front of the net and not just the outer perimeter of the offence.

»» Teams will have ten seconds to get the ball over centre and cannot bring the ball back into their own defensive half once they have crossed into the offensive side of half.

»» In all short man situations the team shorthanded once in possession of the ball has 30 seconds to attempt a shot at the opposition net just like any other time during the game.

»» Moving picks which are considered aggressive and alter the position of a defender so he cannot defend (i.e. body or cross check pick) will be called and the ball will either be turned over if it was deemed incidental or an interference penalty will be called if it was deemed flagrant.
