Canada Wins Inaugural IIJL Commonwealth Cup

Canada wins the inaugural 2023 IIJL Commonwealth Cup over Australia by a final score of 10-4. on a beautiful and breezy Saturday night in Altona. That Canada Development Team (CANDT) finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

Player of the Game went to Swift Current's Shane Friesen who made 28 Saves with a .933 SA% in 43.57 Minutes Player. Friesen finished the championship with 75 Saves, 6.47 Goals Against Average, and a .827 Save Percentage.

Canada handed out the Outback Lacrosse Award to Cole Pottle who played solid defence all tournament and was rock solid in the championship game.

The Canada Development Team will hit the floor next in Bratislava, Slovakia on Friday, April 20th, at 8:00 PM local time, before making their way to Prague, Czech Republic to compete in the 2023 E-Box.
