Canada Development

The Canada Development Team (CANDT) is part of the CLL Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model, focused on providing players who want additional opportunities to compete and develop in an effort to achieve their individual goals - either with the CLL or with other junior, senior, and professional leagues.

Events

Rosters for the CANDT are selected from players who attended Regional Combines and/or played with Canada at a IIJL World Junior, World U18, and/or World U16 Lacrosse Championship and will not be limited to specific age categories. The CANDT trains and competes in Canada, United States, and Internationally each year.

The CANDT will compete in non-IIJL international events, 2019 ELF E-Box (Prague, CZ), and existing non-championship IIJL events, 2020 IIJL Commonwealth Cup (Melbourne, AU - cancelled due to the pandemic), in addition to a full slate of future non-championship IIJL events that will be announced at later dates.

Additionally, the CANDT will run congruently with US Indoor Lacrosse's US Development Team (USADT) to provide CANDT players the opportunity to train and compete in both Canada and the United States year-round.

Development - Interest to Participate

Players are selected to compete with the Canada Development Team (CANDT) by attending Regional Combines or having previously played for Canada at the World Junior, World U18, or World U16 Lacrosse Championships. The CLL understands that not all players who are interested in competing internationally with CANDT may have been able to attend a Regional Combine or previously played with Canada at the World Junior, World U18, or World U16 Lacrosse Championships.

If you are interest in competing internationally with CANDT please compete the form below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Players are only extended invitations to compete with CANDT prior to the start of their Junior A/B/C regular season. To reiterate, a player's priority is with their Junior A/B/C team - players are not asked to "choose" between winning a National Championship with their Junior A/B/C team or winning a IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. Competing with CANDT is an additional opportunity for players to develop.

Please ensure you are selecting the correct year of birth.

Please upload your player resume to provide Canada staff with details of your playing experience.

Submission of this Interest to Participate form does not guarantee a prospective player a spot at the Canada Development Team roster or serve as registration. Once an Interest to Participate form is submitted Canada staff is notified and they will conduct their due diligence. Qualified prospective players will be contacted by Canada staff when needed.
