CANADA

As an International Indoor Junior Lacrosse (IIJL) Founding Member Nation, the Canadian Lacrosse League (CLL) represents Canada at the IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship (WU16LC) and all IIJL events, while administering major junior box lacrosse domestically in Canada.

IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship

The inaugural IIJL World U15 Lacrosse Championship (WU15LC) took place on November 11-14, 2021 at the St. Lawrence Centre Sports Complex in Massena, NY. The 2021 WU15LC was open to players born in 2006, players who were 15 or turning 15 years of age in 2021.

Traditionally, the selection for the Canada World U15 team would take place in the December and January leading up to the championship. However, like many other things, the global pandemic forced the Canadian Lacrosse League to cancel seven (7) Regional Combines across Canada. Players who are interested in being considered for selection and named to the World U15 team are invited to complete the form below.

World U16 Form

Players are selected to compete with Canada at the IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship by attending Regional Combines. The Regional Combines provide players with the opportunity to compete in a controlled environment, work with Canada staff, and be evaluated prior to the start of the Summer Evaluation Period. The CLL understands that not all players who are interested in competing international with Canada at the IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship may have been able to attend a Regional Combine; either due to a scheduling conflict, injury, etc...

If you are interest in competing international with Canada at the 2022 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship in Buffalo, NY from September 2-5, 2022 please compete the form below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Players are only extended invitations to compete with Canada at the IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship once their minor lacrosse commitments have been fulfilled. To reiterate, a player's priority is with their minor association to win a Provincial Championship. The World U16s is an additional opportunity for players to play meaningful box lacrosse in September at the international level.

This email will be added to a Player Profile and should be the player's personal email, NOT a parent/guardian's email.

Please ensure you are selecting the correct year of birth.

If you're not available for the 2022 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship, please let us know and complete this form so we can notify you about future events.

Submission of this Interest to Participate form does not guarantee a prospective player a spot at the Canada roster for the IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship or serve as registration. Once an Interest to Participate form is submitted Canada staff is notified and they will conduct their due diligence. Qualified prospective players will be contacted by Canada staff once their Junior A/B/C team has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention in their respective league and/or eliminated from playoffs prior to the roster deadline.
