The final day and a half of the 2022 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship was not for the faint of heart. While the previous seven games were played at the beautiful open air Buffalo RiverWorks facility under beautiful conditions, the second semi-final game of the day was interrupted at the end of the first quarter due to heavy winds bringing rain onto the cement surface.

With heavy rain and winds persisting overnight the Gold Medal Game took place at the Cattaraugus Community Centre.
