About

CANADIAN LACROSSE LEAGUE

The Canadian Lacrosse League™ (CLL™) was established in 2016 as a Founding Member Nation of International Indoor Junior Lacrosse (IIJL), representing Canada annually at IIJL championships; including the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship (WJLC). As an independent non-profit organization the CLL is dedicated to the creation and administration of the first major junior lacrosse league in Canada; with intra-league competition between the Eastern Lacrosse League™ (ELL™) and Western Lacrosse League™ (WLL™) culminating in a CLL National Championship.  For more information about CLL, visit canadianlacrosseleague.com and connect with the CLL on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

Organization

The CLL has established the leadership necessary to elevate lacrosse as Canada’s National Summer Sport, delivering exciting national and international competitions in partnership with our teams and local stakeholders across the country.

LEADERSHIP  Through sustainable business operations, we assist our teams by sharing best practices, enhancing lacrosse operational efficiencies, and implementing cross-selling strategies to maximize their value and revenue potential. We operate within an effective league governance model focused on integrity and transparency, ensuring a competitively balanced environment.

DEVELOPMENT  Building on a viable lacrosse ecosystem, the CLL provides a comprehensive long-term athlete development model, recognizing that many players are compelled to leave high-performance competition far too early in their careers. By removing barriers to entry (free-to-play vs pay-to-play), creating scholarship programs, and providing career guidance, we help players develop and achieve their personal goals through valuable national and international competition.

COMPETITION  Through regular season and playoff games, including opportunities to host the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship, our teams offer unparalleled opportunities for players to compete and showcase their talent. We host games in beautiful city-owned arenas equipped with all the amenities that fans desire—air conditioning, food and beverage options, and video boards—allowing our teams to generate revenue and provide local communities with engaging weekday summer programming.

PROMOTION  The athleticism, skill, and talent displayed at lacrosse games create one of the most compelling experiences in sports and entertainment. With CLL support through a national footprint and media engagement, our teams serve as marketing powerhouses within their communities. As they attract thousands of fans to world-class venues, they generate local excitement and introduce lacrosse to a new generation of Canadians.

COMMUNITY  Through collaborations with local organizations, our teams not only enhance the visibility of lacrosse but also strengthen community bonds and initiatives, ensuring that the spirit of the game resonates beyond the arena. Before introducing lacrosse to local schools, our teams build relationships with Indigenous nations to share the sport’s origin story, honouring its cultural significance. By fostering inclusivity and promoting grassroots participation, we aim to inspire the next wave of players and fans. Together, we are building a vibrant lacrosse community that celebrates our shared heritage and drives future growth across Canada.
