NEW CHANNEL UTILIZES ARCHIVE FOOTAGE GIVING FANS NON-STOP ACTION FROM IIJL CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDAL GAMES.

The Canadian Lacrosse League is making the introduction of lacrosse to new fans more accessible this week with the launch the first live, 24/7, and free lacrosse channel that will stream some of the greatest moments seen on the international stage.

From its founding the CLL has made conscious efforts to preserve and catalogue its collection of video footage from the past 10 years competing internationally with the goal of continually showcasing the skill and athleticism of its players.

With hundreds of hours of game footage available CLL GOLD will launch the a 24 hour livestream on YouTube giving subscribers around the clock access 7 days a week.

CLL GOLD will be the first ever lacrosse-focused 24/7 channel on YouTube, a style of broadcasting that has grown in popularity with key demographics.

Initially CLL GOLD will only be available on YouTube, accessible on desktop, mobile, and through smart TVs and will be rolled out on other social channels and an independent Mobile and Smart App later next year.

The channel is available now, and will screen mini-documentaries including 'Building Canada' which highlighted the CLL process in assembling the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship roster over four Regional Combines – as well as full replays and extensive extended highlights packages from action-packed IIJL Championships.

Early programming on the channel will feature a heavy dose of iconic World Junior action, with more content coming soon. The initial line-up of games that will appear on CLL GOLD include:

  • 2022 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship Gold Medal Game Canada vs Haudenosaunee
  • 2023 IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship Gold Medal Game Canada vs United States
  • 2018 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship Gold Medal Game Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) vs Canada
  • 2024 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship Gold Medal Game Canada vs Scotland
  • 2024 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship Gold Medal Game Canada vs United States

CLL President & CEO, Chris Fox, said celebrating lacrosse's heritage and making the archive accessible was a key driver for the project.

"Far too often we think that just because our content lives on platforms elsewhere our fans will eventually find us," Fox said. "That is simply not the case and we want to make sure that our fans and potential new fans can find us and watch our players perform.

CLL GOLD on YouTube will provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase our past games and players, many of whom are now playing professionally, all while we grow our reach and establish new lacrosse markets across Canada."
