by CLL

Kyle Dawson, Alternate Captain for Canada at the 2018 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship, will be making the jump from Junior B to play Junior A for the 2019 season.

Dawson will play this season for the Nanaimo Timbermen of the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League (BCJALL) after leading the Wallaceburg Red Devils as a star forward having scored 53 Goals and added 34 Assists for 87 Points in 19 Games during the 2018 Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League (OJBLL) regular season.

In addition to his leadership, the 5'10", 175lbs, lefty forward from Florence, Ontario played a key role for Canada winning gold at the 2018 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championships where he scored 6 Goals and added 5 Assists for 11 Points in 3 Games.

"Kyle was a 'Junior A' caliber player last season. He's a perfect example of the amount of talent that is available out there, which is why we are so confident in what we're building with the CLL." said Canada General Manager and Canadian Lacrosse League Executive Director Chris Fox. "He'll be an impact player in the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League."

Dawson will join the Nanaimo Timbermen following the completion of his Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League season, where he serves as captain of the London Nationals. Dawson and the Nationals are currently in the best-of-seven Sutherland Cup final, which is emblematic of Junior B supremacy in the Ontario Hockey Association.
