Jeff Dowling Returns as Head Coach for 2019 WJLC

by CLL

VANCOUVER, BC - The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLL) is happy to announce that Jeff Dowling will return as Head Coach for Canada at the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship.

In much the same way Canada assembles its 23 Man Final Roster for the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship, the coaching staff is also a fluid process in the weeks leading up to the games. Dowling and the Hamilton Benglas were eliminated from the West Finals of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League (OJBLL) on Friday (July 26), which provided an opening for Dowling to jump back behind the Canada bench.

While Junior playoffs take a physical toll on players, coaches also need an opportunity to regroup after intense playoff-runs. Coach Dowling took to Twitter to express his gratitude and appreciation to the many members of the Hamilton Bengals and partner organization who made this past season's run possible.

"Jeff [Dowling] has been instrumental in the execution of our Ontario Regional Combine, the selection and evolution of our 40 Man Player Pool, and of course the selection of our 23 Man Final Roster" Canada, General Manager Chris Fox added when describing Coach Dowling's contributions outside of his coaching responsibilities. "Having worked with 'JD' for almost three years, I can say that he is one of the most prepared coaches I've ever had the pleasure of working with." Fox added.

Canada has finalized their roster and will continue preparing for the 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship with a training camp schedule to kick-off in Mississauga, ON on August 3, 2019.

2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship - The 2019 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will take place August 6-11 at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre (PFFC) in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
