Second Half Surge Propels Canada Over Slovakia in International Friendly

With a 13 hour travel day and sightseeing behind them, the CLL Canada Development Team (CANDT) played their International Friendly against a Slovak roster comprised of players competing for a spot on the Slovakia Men's Box Lacrosse National Team. 

Slovakia surprised Canada with two quick goals on deflections to take a 2-0 lead minutes into the First Quarter. Canada responded with a transition goal by Zack Wildeboer to end the 1st. 

After being down two players and a successful five-on-three penalty kill, Canada added a short handed goal to even the score 2-2. Canada then added the first even strength goal of the game to take their first lead of the game, 3-2. Exchanging goals over the course of the Second Quarter, Slovakia would retake the lead, and Canada bringing the differential back to a goal ending the 2nd with Slovakia leading 7-6 into Halftime. 

Canada opened the scoring in the 3rd, tying the game again at 7-7, and never looked back. In the last half of the game Canada scored 10 unanswered Goals. Slovakia would stop the run with their 8th and final goal of the game, with the final goal of the game and final score of - Canada 13 - Slovakia 8.
