Canada Falls Short in IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship Final
Heading into the Gold Medal Game of the 2024 IIJL World U18 Lacrosse Championship Canada had won the previous two match-up against the United States in the double round-robin games.
Canada would get out to a 4-0 lead only to have the United States claw back prior to the end of the 1st Quarter. The United States then took the lead and would never look back.
While Canada kept the game close, the United States implements a full floor press that Canada could not over come or figure out in transition.

Ultimately, the United States would dominate the second half of the game on way to a dominating performance, beating Canada 26-12. "The young men played hard, we are very proud of them." Said Head Coach Todd Wilfong.
The final game of the combined U18, U16, and Women's Junior weekend spoiled the CLL's superfecta of 2024 IIJL Championships. Canada finished with Gold in World Juniors, Women's World Juniors, and World U16s. While finishing with Silver for World U18s.
Attention now shifts to the off season where there will be exciting changes as the CLL is forced to overcome challenges in the domestic lacrosse landscape.
