Canada Brings Home Silver Medal From 2025 IIJL World U16s
In a battle of attrition, the Canada U16 roster brings home the Silver Medal from the 2025 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship.
While Canada finished with a record of 1-3, in the double round-robin games were much closer than the recorded indicates. Both Canada and Haudenosaunee, represented by the North American Minor Lacrosse Association (NAMLA), finished with 1-3 records. But given Canada's Goals For (GF) - Goals Against (GA) of 51 to 45, compared to Haudenosaunee's 39 to 71, Canada advanced to the Gold Medal Game.
Canada's roster was balanced with offensive fire power, led by Easton Hamilton with 23 Goals and 11 Assists in 5 Games. Ethan Labrash 9 Goals and 9 Assists and Lawson Staye 7 Goals and 11 Assists in the 5 Games.
Defensively, Ryan Aikin (2 Goals, 2 Assists) and Tucker Istace (1 Assist) anchored the back-end. While Cardell Noble jumped into and embraced a transition role scoring 1 Goal and adding 3 Assists.
In the net, Tyrell Strauss and Chase Dixon-Liddle split duties to backstop Canada to the Gold Medal Game for a third game against the United States.

Three (3) Canada players were named to the 2025 IIJL World U16 Lacrosse Championship All-World Team; Forward and Alternate Captain Easton Hamilton, Transition and Alternate Captain Cardell Noble, lastly Defender and Captain Ryan Aikin.
CLL now looks ahead to the 2026 IIJL Commonwealth Cup taking place February 23 - March 6, 2026 at the Altona Lacrosse Club in Altona, VIC minutes outside of the city of Melbourne.
