Canada DevelopmentĀ

The Canada Development Team (CANDT) is part of the CLL Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model, focused on providing players with additional opportunities to compete and develop in an effort to achieve their individual goals - either with the CLL or other junior, senior, and professional leagues. Additionally, the CANDT will run congruently with US Indoor Lacrosse's USA Development Team (USADT) to provide CANDT players with the opportunity to train and compete in both Canada and the United States year-round. Each year the CANDT schedules a full slate of games, tournaments, and championships in Canada, the United States, and internationally for players to showcase their skills and develop.Ā

2024 Events

Rosters for the CANDT are selected from players who attended Regional Combines and/or played with Canada at a IIJL World Junior, World U18, and/or World U16 Lacrosse Championships and are not be limited to specific age categories. The 2024 series of events includes the 2024 IIJL Commonwealth Cup in beautiful Melbourne, Australia taking place February 2024 and then the 2024 E-Box in historic Prague, Czech Republic taking place April 204.Ā

Melbourne, Australia
Prague, Czech Republic

Players interested in competing in either, or both, events are welcomed to submit an Interest to Participate form below.Ā

The CANDT also provide players who have attended Regional Combines who were not selected or weren't able to attend IIJl Championships due to playing for a National Championship, School, or other scheduling conflicts an opportunity for once in a lifetime experiences playing international and developing box lacrosse abroad.Ā

Development - Interest to Participate

Players are selected to compete with the Canada Development Team (CANDT) by attending Regional Combines or having previously played for Canada at the World Junior, World U18, or World U16 Lacrosse Championships. The CLL understands that not all players who are interested in competing internationally with CANDT may have been able to attend a Regional Combine or played with Canada at previous IIJL Championships.Ā

If you are interest in competing internationally with CANDT please compete the form below.Ā

IMPORTANT NOTICE Players are only extended invitations to compete with CANDT prior to the start of their Junior A/B/C regular season. To reiterate, a player's priority is with their Junior A/B/C team - players are not asked to "choose" between their Junior A/B/C team or competing with CANDT internationally. Competing with CANDT is an additional opportunity for players to develop prior to the start of the Junior A/B/C season.

Please ensure you are selecting the correct year of birth.

Please upload your player resume to provide Canada staff with details of your playing experience.

Submission of this Interest to Participate form does not guarantee a prospective player a spot at the Canada Development Team roster or serve as registration. Once an Interest to Participate form is submitted Canada staff is notified and they will conduct their due diligence. Qualified prospective players will be contacted by Canada staff when needed.Ā
