CLL Releases First Podcast - RUGBURN

The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLL) announced today the official launch of its first podcast, “RUGBURN."

For the first CLL Podcast, League Founder and Canada General Manager, Chris Fox, talks with some of the best 16 to 21 year old box lacrosse players in the world - giving fans access to junior lacrosse like never before. Players will share their stories as elite athletes navigating a balance between life and lacrosse, all in the pursuit of playing professionally in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). 

"Launching our first podcast as an organization is a strategic next step in the promotion of major junior lacrosse in Canada." Remarked Fox. “As we build out our league assets, everything we do is centred around adding value to the player experience, which includes telling their stories." 

For the inaugural episode of RUGBURN, Fox spoke with defender Will Cecile who currently plays for the Burlington Chiefs of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League (OJALL). Cecile was scheduled to join Canada and the Canadian Lacrosse League in Melbourne, Australia for the 2020 IIJL Commonwealth Cup in March - which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cecile discusses the balancing act of being a Nursing Student at the University of Windsor, his progression as a player, switching from offence to defence, and making the jump from Junior B to Junior A.
